Like all my clients I am addicted to lash extensions and one of the most common questions I get asked is "
How do I make my extensions last so long?".
Unfortunately each individual has their own lash cycle so there's no absolute way of making lashes last as long as the next persons.
For me though I don't touch my lashes too often. I make sure my eyes don't touch water for at least 48 hours after the initial treatment. After that I wash my face and shower as normal letting the water run through my lashes.
I think it's important that water goes through the lashes so it clears away any make-up, dirt, and dead skin cells. By not washing the lashes regularly, you're allowing the dirt and grime to build up making a nice environment for infections to occur.
Most cleansers, make-up removers, soaps, face washes contain an ingredient called "Glycol". Unfortunately this particular ingredient is an ingredient contained in the lash remover used to remove lash extensions. I recommend using cotton buds to remove any eye make-up around the eyes using either water or a water-based make-up remover like "Simple". Dab never swipe across the lashes as you may snag a lash - ouch!!
Congratulations to Juliet, another bride that fluttered her lush lashes at the end of June 2013.
Juliet wanted her lashes to look dramatic but at the same time not too fake for her special day, so I recommended the Mink C curl for that natural curl using a 0.20mm thickness which gave her a bold enough statement but also natural enough to keep her guests guessing "are they or aren't they real".
As we hit June we can finally stow away our big woolly jumpers and coats and adorn a much lighter seasonal change of clothes as its about to get a whole lot warmer here in the UK. Wow!! Really?! I hope so because there are loads of brides this year gearing up for their special day here in the UK and it would be the icing on the cake we had blue skies and sunshine!
The wedding season is now in full swing. Book early to get luscious lash extensions for your big day.
(*If you've never had lashes always get a patch test first in case of any allergic reactions to the ingredients)
One of my spring 2013 brides. Louise asked me to do her lashes and make-up but on the day I ended up doing her hair too.
Louise is a natural beauty, has beautiful flawless skin, made even more flawless with a little bit of foundation and concealer, and toppled off with some beautiful Mink Lash extensions. She wanted a beautiful dreamy look so I used Mink lash extensions in a C curl to give her a more softer sophisticated look. This gorgeous couple really did have the sun shining down on them after a bitter cold March and April start. Congratulations to Lou and Jim!
